How often should I have my fabric sofa professionally cleaned?
We recommend every 12 to 18 months. We'll contact you around the 12 month mark after your first appointment and work with you to schedule a follow-up within that timeframe.
How long does a fabric clean take, and do I need to prepare anything?
For a regularly maintained sofa, a three seater typically takes around 60 minutes. A heavily soiled three seater can take up to 2.5 hours. To help us get the best result, please vacuum your sofa all over — including under and between the cushions — before we arrive.
How long before I can sit on my sofa after the clean?
Once the sofa is touch dry you're good to go. As part of the process we extract as much water as possible, so drying time is generally quite quick depending on the fabric and ventilation in the room.
What should I do with removable cushion covers?
If your sofa has detachable back rest cushions — particularly feather filled ones — we recommend removing the covers and having them machine washed or dry cleaned separately. If machine washing, use a gentle cycle on cold water.
How does wet/dry extraction work and why is it better than hiring a machine yourself?
Wet/dry extraction works by pushing professional detergents and solvents into the fabric and extracting them simultaneously. The key difference with a professional service is knowing which detergents to use for specific stain and fabric types, and how to agitate them correctly. This expertise is what delivers a thorough, safe result that a hire machine simply can't replicate.
Can all stains be removed?
Not always. Whether a stain can be fully removed depends on the type of stain, what caused it, and how long it has been there. We always set clear expectations with you before we start, so there are no surprises. Our heavy stain removal service is designed to reduce even the most stubborn stains, but 100% removal cannot be guaranteed in every case.
How long does the fabric protection last, and does it need to be reapplied?
The professional-grade fabric protector we use bonds to your fabric fibres to repel oil, water, dirt, and grime. It is highly durable, but regular use and cleaning gradually reduce its effectiveness over time. We recommend reapplying it at each professional clean — every 12 to 18 months — to maintain the best level of protection.
Do you handle pet hair and pet odours?
Yes — our wet/dry extraction process effectively lifts odours including those caused by pet or human urine. For best results, vacuum pet hair off the sofa thoroughly before we arrive. This makes a real difference to the outcome of the clean.
