Leather Repairs, Restoration and  Recliner Parts

In most cases, yes. We colour match on site and blend the repair into the surrounding leather. Some colours and finishes are harder to match than others, and on rare occasions a dye correction is needed — we'll tell you upfront if that's likely once we've seen the piece or your photos.

Our aim is a repair you have to look for. On most damage the result blends in well. Very large repairs, or damage on heavily worn areas that get constant contact, may remain slightly visible up close. We'd rather set that expectation before we start than after.

The most common culprits are the cable trigger or handset, the transformer, or the motor itself. Often it's the cheapest part that's failed, not the most expensive one. Send us photos of the chair, the underside and any labels you can find, and we'll narrow it down before we come out.

Often, yes — but it depends on the brand and how long the model has been out of production. Photos of the mechanism and any manufacturer labels help us check availability before you commit to a call-out. If we can't source the part, we'll say so.

A call-out fee covers our time and travel to assess the work in your home. For recliner parts it always applies, because diagnosis has to be done in person. For leather repairs it may apply depending on the job and your location — we'll confirm before we book you in.

Usually. Light surface scratching often responds well to repair and recolouring. Deep scratching that has broken through the leather takes more work and the result depends on how widespread it is. Photos are the fastest way for us to give you an honest answer.

If the damage is in one or two specific spots and the rest of the leather is in reasonable condition, a repair is usually the right call. If the leather is faded, dried out or worn across the whole piece, restoration will give you a far better result — patching one area on tired leather tends to highlight the areas around it.

Most in-home leather repairs are completed in a single visit. Recliner part replacements depend on parts availability — once the part is in hand, fitting is usually quick.

That depends on the piece and what's wrong with it. Sometimes the honest answer is that a repair isn't the best use of your money, and we'll tell you when that's the case. If the frame is sound and you like the piece, repair or restoration almost always works out better value than buying new.
